You need to know that your DUI is a big deal.  It is not a traffic ticket or a trivial criminal offense.  Due to some pretty heavy lobbying, DUI has become a national crusade and you can easily be swept up in the panic. 

You need to know that time is not on your side.  You only have 15 days from the day you were arrested to request an administrative hearing to try and save your license from automatic suspension.  You need to hire a lawyer quickly because video and audio evidence is destroyed sometimes with 24 hours of an arrest.  This is evidence that could potentially prove your innocence. 

You need to know that a conviction for DUI can ruin your life.  Make no mistake, a DUI can cost you your job, your money and your freedom.  Many employment opportunities will be closed to you if you are convicted of DUI.  You could lose your license.  You could be ordered to wear an ankle monitor or be ordered into alcohol treatment.  DUI’s are serious cases for serious lawyers only. 

DUI’ s are not easy to fight.  Winning a DUI is hard, but it is possible with the right combination of experience, creative litigation strategies and an understanding of the science of DUI defense.  Whether you were actually incapable of safely operating your vehicle or not, the question is can the state prove your guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.  If they can’t, you walk.
